It's been a very busy 6 month in Mackay with the arrival of a Da Vinci X robotic system in Mackay! We have recently performed our 100th case which is an outstanding effort for regional Queensland. This cutting edge technology is now being expanded at the Mater for use in Gynaecology as well as General Surgery. Patients no longer need to leave town to receive world class surgical care and I am glad to have been able to bring robotic surgery to our local community.
